A few months back, I was stuck. Not stuck like "having a bad day" stuck. Stuck like nothing I wrote was landing, nothing I sold was moving, and I was starting to wonder if I even had it in me to build something of my own.
Then someone told me to read a set of old letters written by a bloke named Gary Halbert.
I'd never heard of him. Turns out he was one of the best copywriters who ever lived. Back in the 1980s, he ended up in a US federal prison over a tax dispute. Instead of wasting that time away, he wrote letters to his teenage son, Bond, teaching him everything he knew about selling, writing, and running a business. Those letters got collected into a book people now call the Boron Letters, named after the prison where he wrote them.
I read through all 25 of them. Some hit me straight away. Others took a second read before they clicked. But by the end, I understood something I'd been missing the whole time: most people fail at selling because they're guessing. Gary never guessed. He studied real buyers, tested everything, and wrote like he was talking to a mate, not a customer.
I've taken those 25 letters and turned them into a plain-English guide. No old-timey language, no fluff. Just the lesson from each letter, broken down simply, plus what to actually do with it.
